Day 20 with Jesus
God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.
Matthew 5:9
Fast: Dinner
Pray: Peace
God, You revealed yourself in the Old Testament as “the Lord our Peace”. That means in Your presence, character, and ability you provide everything I need to experience your peace. Allow me to experience your peace in the middle of the mundane tasks of my day and in the chaos of life. When life is heavy, I lean on the Lord our Peace. When uncertainty overwhelms me, I lean on the Lord our peace. Jesus, one of your titles is, “Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6) I remind myself that peace is not a place or a state; peace
is a person, and His name is Jesus. Now, because of Jesus I can experience peace from God and peace with God. I cast my anxieties and fears on You. (1 Peter 5:7) I receive Jesus’s words in John 14, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” I surrender the things I can’t control: people, plans, and the things that are out of my hands. I will not fill my mind with worry, or fear and then expect peace. God, show me any harmful habits, people, or influences in my life today. Finally, let peace start with me. Help me deal with people and situations in a peaceful manner. Help me be a peacemaker!
In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen
